About the Artist
I live in Sunnyvale, CA. I started quilting over 11 years ago because it gave me a chance to play with fabric. I found that I could combine many of the art forms I loved (painting, beading, embroidery) into the art form of quilting.
I spend a lot of time hiking exploring the diverse ecosystems of the San Francisco Bay Area. My love of nature is the focus for much of my work. When I am not quilting and creating art, I work teaching children about the wonderful world of nature that surrounds us.
Lately I’ve been combining my love of nature and quilting by using quilting as a tool to teach about the natural world. I am the founder of the Bay Quilt Project, where classes that have a field trip to the bay create quilts about their experience there.
