The Bay Quilt Project is an exciting new program that helps classes that have had a field trip to the San Francisco Bay create a quilt about their experience.

The goals of this project are:

The 2006-2007 school year is the first year of this program. Quilt artist and environmental educator Jennifer Snedeker is working with the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center and the Marine Science Institute to work with approximately 10 classes to create quilts. In future years The Bay Quilt Project plans to work with more classes and create a workshop for educators to create their own quilts in the classroom.
